this saturday was a busy day, i sent emails, paid my stuff, went to france for groceries, went to the gym. went back home at 6pm then wondered what to do now.
i spent the whole day all alone speaking to no one. not a single word went out of my mouth today. i was searching for social connection, since i've recently deleted all my socials. my thoughts went into a loop, always thinking about the same things, searching for solutions that do not exist... did a little "mind burnout" then just... took a walk.
the street i live on was having a festival. music, the smell of food, couples walking by, holding hands, children running, dogs running too. i walked. a whole hour in carouge. and i slowly fell in love with it.
beautiful streets, people laughing, every bar was unique, every shop was unique too: a marble sculpture shop, a bonsai shop, a candle shop, design creators... every street smelled of food, coffee shops were open, couples on dates, mid-thirties guys all alone drinking coffee, and some lonely guys like me, just walking. i saw cars idling by the curb, waiting for someone to run down from their apartment and jump in.
then i went back home. music, festival, walking, stockholmsvy in my ears. i fell in love with carouge, it's definitely the city of small things. i'll miss this summer so much. and i hope i'll have someone to share those moments with.
